Revelation 1

John Receives the Visions

Revelation 1:1-3 “A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place. And he sent forth his angel and presented [it] in signs through him to his slave John, who bore witness to the word God gave and to the witness Jesus Christ gave, even to all the things he saw. Happy is he who reads aloud and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and who observe the things written in it; for the appointed time is near.”

Revelation 1:4-3:22 Letters to the “stars” of the 7 congregations (Revelation 1:20; 2:1) Revelation 2:10 states “…Look! The Devil will keep on throwing some of YOU into prison that YOU may be fully put to the test, and that YOU may have tribulation ten days.”

This principle of being fully put to the test is necessary. For our day, it happens during the three and a half times mentioned in Daniel 12:7,11 and Revelation 11:2,3.
