Daniel chapter 10 is an introduction to chapters 11 and 12. Chapters 10 through 12 flow together.
Chapter ten also introduces us to Michael as the prince of Daniel’s people. This is evident in verses 13 and 21 of chapter 10 right into chapter 11 verse 1. Michael comes to help Gabriel in his fight against the prince of Persia.
